Day two of our break in Filey. Fifteen or so miles away from the coast, one of our number plans a walk for us. Despite multifarious diversions, we eventually completed a circuit.
Other Filey pics: Friday, Bridlington, day three.
But, before we get started, here's a picture of how beautiful the coastline looked in the early morning sun.
The village is full of monuments to benificent barons and other patrons.
This is the back of Sledmere House (marked on the map): open to the public, we went out of season.
So, the walk gets underway. I rather had hoped it would stop at this pub, but it was not to be.
The weather was glorious and the pastures verdant.
Somebody's not keeping up.
Some of the way up was quite steep.
You can probably only just make out a windmill and church here.
Near the top of the slope we were walking up lived a lot of pheasants. They suffered a rude awakening at our hands. Sadly, none of them became dinner.
After mounting the hill, we walked through a wood. When we emerged, we were treated to a glorious sight over the fields, so we ate some lunch.
